Description
Methylated forms of the amino acid arginine are formed during natural metabolic processes in cells. The process of arginine methylation is an integral step in gene transcription, signal transduction, DNA repair, and RNA processing. Methylated arginines have been shown to be independent predictors (prognostic parameters) of cardiovascular diseases.
