Description
Von Willebrand disease is one of the most common genetically determined blood coagulation disorders. The disease is caused by aberrations in the VWF gene, which encodes the von Willebrand factor. Depending on the pathological changes in the von Willebrand factor, disease types are distinguished by quantitative changes (Type 1 and Type 3) and qualitative changes (Type 2A, 2B, 2M, 2N).
