Characterization of the ratio and physiological properties of various types of blood cellular elements. The complete blood count includes the determination of the total number of erythrocytes, leukocytes and platelets, hemoglobin concentration, calculation of hematocrit value (ratio of erythrocyte volume to total blood volume) and erythrocyte indices (mean corpuscular volume, mean corpuscular hemoglobin, mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration).
