Determination of sperm DNA fragmentation

Description

Spermatozoa are highly specialized cells tasked with delivering the paternal genome to the oocyte (female germ cell) and supporting successful embryo development. In recent years, much attention has been paid to the significance of determining the degree of sperm DNA fragmentation, since damage to their genetic apparatus leads to reduced fertility in men and affects the probability of natural conception and the effectiveness of reproductive technologies.

The test is performed when the sperm count is 1 million/ml or more. The test is not performed at a concentration of less than 1 million per ml.
