Description
A microbiological examination allowing the detection of pathogenic microorganisms in the examined biomaterial (stool) – causative agents of dysentery, typhoid fever, and paratyphoid fever. These microorganisms belong to the genera Shigella and Salmonella, are capable of causing acute intestinal infections, and can also reside in the human gastrointestinal tract for a long time without causing disease symptoms, while retaining the ability to infect those around the carrier. The analysis is used to confirm the diagnosis of acute intestinal infections, as well as to detect hidden bacterial carriage.
