Description
PROTIA Allergy-Q is a screening panel for allergy diagnosis (Proteome-Tech Inc., Korea) for serum allergen-specific IgE (sIgE). A method of quantitative determination of specific IgE is used to detect clinically significant allergens using a high-tech immunoblotting method. The study is intended for the determination of specific IgE antibodies to major food and respiratory allergens in blood serum. This is a modern, accurate, comprehensive method of allergy diagnostics. The Allergy-Q system has good diagnostic characteristics for the most common allergens. The PROTIA Allergy-Q panel uses a newer technique of parallel membrane placement, which allows evaluating more diverse allergens in a single test compared to other systems using only one membrane. The amount of allergen-specific IgE antibodies to each allergen on the panel is determined, and the allergenicity class is also determined.
This study may be prescribed when inhalation allergy is suspected.
