Description
A genetic marker of Ph-negative myeloproliferative diseases, associated with pathological activation of the processes of division and maturation (differentiation) of precursor cells of the myeloid hematopoiesis lineage. The result of this is increased proliferation and an increase in the number of erythrocytes, leukocytes, and platelets in peripheral blood in polycythemia vera or isolated thrombocytosis in essential thrombocythemia. The marker is extremely important for the diagnosis of polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia, and primary myelofibrosis.
