Description
Mutation in the MPL gene – a mutation in the thrombopoietin receptor gene – leads to changes in the hematopoietic stem cell and impaired blood cell formation. It is always tested for in the presence of a negative JAK2 mutation test result when a myeloproliferative disorder is suspected.
