Description
Specific antibodies produced in the body of patients with autoimmune diseases, belonging to the class M immunoglobulins (IgM). Increased production of these antibodies can lead to the formation of immune complexes that damage connective tissue, primarily joints and blood vessels. Used in the diagnosis and monitoring of rheumatoid arthritis and some other autoimmune and chronic inflammatory diseases.
