Description
One of the proteins responsible for the body's non-specific resistance to bacterial antigens. Its main functions include inducing leukocyte migration to the site of inflammation, opsonization ("adhesion") to the bacterial wall to enhance phagocytosis reactions, and activating granulocytes with the subsequent release of a large amount of biologically active substances. It can also increase vascular permeability and stimulate leukotriene production by neutrophils. The C3 complement component is associated with the development of many autoimmune diseases.
Indications for use:
1. Diagnosis of conditions associated with a deficiency of complement system proteins (frequent infectious diseases, etc.).
2. Diagnosis and monitoring of autoimmune diseases (systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, glomerulonephritis).
