Description
The examination allows detecting antibodies in the blood to the pathogens of opisthorchiasis, toxocariasis, trichinellosis, and echinococcosis. Specific immunoglobulins to helminths begin to be produced a few days after the introduction of the pathogen into the body; after cure, they can persist in elevated titers for a long time. The test is used for screening for the presence of helminthiases in conjunction with other diagnostic methods (microscopic, functional). In case of a positive screening result, the titer of detected antibodies and their type (to which specific helminth antibodies were detected) is indicated.
