Description
Pollen allergy is the most common type of allergy, which usually has a seasonal character and coincides with the flowering periods of plants to whose pollen there is sensitization. Box elder, poplar, elm, oak, and pecan are distributed in the same geographical latitude, bloom at approximately the same time (late April – late May), and very often there are cross-allergic reactions to the pollen of these trees – these are the main reasons why these allergens are collected in one panel. Allergy is manifested by profuse lacrimation, nasal discharge; rarely by cutaneous manifestations; in severe cases by choking attacks, urticaria, Quincke's edema, seasonal pollen dermatitis with severe itching and various rashes. The determination of specific IgG in the blood primarily indicates the entry of one or more allergens of the panel into the body; in addition, it is believed that an increased concentration of specific IgG in the blood contributes to a decrease in the manifestations of IgE-mediated immediate-type allergic reactions and the formation of delayed-type hypersensitivity.
