Common House Allergen Mixture No. 9 (IgE): Dermatophagoides farinae, Cat epithelium, Horse dander, Dog dander, Alternaria alternata (tenuis)

Description

All allergens presented in the panel have pronounced sensitizing activity.

House dust allergens are very diverse in their composition. They include substances of animal and plant origin, waste products of fungi, insects, and bacteria. Component parts of house dust can be mites of the Dermatophagoides farinae genus, cat epithelium, dog dander, and the mold fungus Alternaria alternata (tenuis). The horse allergen can be just as problematic as domestic animal allergens, given its probable potential for passive transfer, although this risk is not high.
Manifestations of an allergic reaction are usually fits of coughing, difficulty breathing, and constant runny nose, especially in the morning hours. This test allows determining the presence of sensitization of the human body to these allergens and is significant for diagnosing the causes of bronchial asthma, eczema, atopic dermatitis, respiratory allergies, and allergic conjunctivitis.

* Allergological tests containing the phrase "allergen mixture" in their name imply a comprehensive screening test that allows detecting sensitization (increased sensitivity of the body) to a specific group of allergens. In this case, the result of this test is issued generally for the mixture of allergens, and not for each specific allergen included in this group.
