Description
The most common type of allergy is pollen allergy, which, as a rule, is seasonal in nature and coincides with the flowering periods of plants to whose pollen there is sensitization. Orchard grass, Timothy grass, Common ragweed, and Mugwort are distributed in the same geographical latitude, bloom at approximately the same time (May – July), and very often there are cross-allergic reactions to the pollen of these herbs – these are the main reasons why these allergens are collected in one panel. Allergy manifests as profuse lacrimation, discharge from the nasal cavity; less often as skin manifestations; in severe cases as suffocation attacks, urticaria, Quincke's edema, seasonal pollen dermatitis with severe itching and various rashes. The determination of specific IgG in the blood primarily indicates that the given allergen is entering the body; in addition, it is believed that an increased concentration of specific IgG in the blood contributes to reducing the manifestations of immediate-type allergic reactions mediated by IgE.
