Description
All allergens presented in the panel possess pronounced sensitizing activity. House dust allergens are very diverse in their composition. They include substances of animal and vegetable origin, waste products of fungi, insects, and bacteria. The main constituents of house dust are Dermatophagoides pteronyssinus mites, cat epithelium, and dog dander. The cause of allergy can also be plant pollen, the flowering of which coincided with the manifestation or exacerbation of the disease. Birch, mugwort, timothy grass, cultivated rye, and Cladosporium herbarum are distributed in the same geographical latitude and bloom at approximately the same time (May – July). Manifestations of an allergic reaction are usually: coughing fits, difficulty breathing, and constant runny nose, especially in the morning hours. Determination of specific IgG in blood primarily indicates the entry of this allergen into the body; moreover, it is believed that an increased concentration of specific IgG in blood contributes to reducing the manifestations of immediate-type allergic reactions mediated by IgE.
