Food allergen mixture No. 24 (IgE): hazelnut, shrimp, kiwi, banana

Description

Hazelnuts, shrimp, kiwi, and bananas, as an etiological factor of food allergy, are classified as having a high degree of allergenic activity (without taking individual characteristics into account). This study allows determining the presence of sensitization of the organism to the presented allergens and thereby identifying possible cross-allergic reactions to the panel allergens. Manifestations of allergy can be digestive system disorders (cheilitis, gastritis, colitis, gastroenteritis), skin manifestations (atopic dermatitis, urticaria, Quincke's edema), and respiratory system disorders (allergic rhinitis, asthma). An allergic reaction to nuts can often proceed in the form of a severe attack of bronchial asthma.

* Allergological studies containing the phrase "allergen mixture" in their name imply a complex screening study that allows identifying sensitization (hypersensitivity of the organism) to a specific group of allergens. In this case, the result of this study is issued generally for the mixture of allergens, and not for each specific allergen included in this group.
