Description
Titanium participates in the formation of epithelial tissue, hematopoiesis, and, together with silicon and vanadium, contributes to better fusion of bones after fractures. In the human body, it accumulates mainly in the lungs, brain, muscles, cartilage, and adrenal glands. The concentration of titanium in lymph nodes is quite high. Absorption occurs in the gastrointestinal tract. Titanium is excreted from the body mainly with feces and to a lesser extent with urine.
Elevated levels are noted in: lung diseases (fibrosis, silicosis, alveolitis), neoplasms of the immune system, neurological diseases, osteochondrosis, arthrosis.
