A new laboratory method characterized by the speed of obtaining results, their accuracy, and high information content. A feature of real-time polymerase chain reaction is the ability to register a fluorescent signal directly during PCR amplification, allowing the determination of the presence of cytomegalovirus DNA in the test material. Indications for testing:
1. Screening examination before and during pregnancy
2. Prenatal diagnosis of intrauterine infection
3. Patients with HIV infection or immunodeficiency of other etiology
4. Clinical picture of infectious mononucleosis, but with negative heterohemagglutination reactions
5. Casual sexual contacts
Period of execution
Within 2 days. The specified time does not include the day of biomaterial collection
