Description
The test allows detecting Ureaplasma urealyticum DNA in biological material (concentration is reported in case of a positive result). This type of microorganism belongs to the group of opportunistic pathogens, is present in the microflora of 50-75% of the adult population, however, with decreased immunity or coinfection with other infections, it multiplies actively, leading to the development of dysbiosis, and subsequently to an inflammatory process. Ureaplasmas have low immunogenicity, which makes it difficult to detect specific antibodies to them in blood serum, therefore, detection of genetic material (DNA) is the most sensitive diagnostic method. Determining the ureaplasma species is important for choosing the optimal treatment strategy.
