Description
The test has species specificity and high sensitivity. This method allows for the quantitative determination of Hepatitis C virus RNA in the examined material (blood). The quantitative method provides important information about the intensity of virus replication, allows assessing the effectiveness of the therapy being conducted, and detecting resistance to antiviral drugs.
HCV RNA can be detected at a concentration beyond the lower limit of the linear concentration range. The linear concentration range is the range in which the number of pathogen copies can be accurately counted. For this analysis, the linear range of HCV DNA concentrations determined by the detecting amplifier is 7.5×10^2 – 1.0×10^8 copies/ml of sample.
