Description
The method is based on the direct binding of Herpes Simplex Virus antigens with fluorochrome-labeled antibodies and subsequent microscopy of the test material with the resulting antigen-antibody complexes in ultraviolet light. Under the influence of ultraviolet radiation, the fluorochrome emits a glow, which allows for the rapid detection of the pathogen in the test material. The technique is used for the rapid diagnosis (express diagnostics) of herpetic infection and has a fairly high specificity (up to 85%). The test result is qualitative, without typing.
Indications for prescribing tests:
1. Comprehensive diagnosis and monitoring of herpetic infection
2. Monitoring of the therapy effectiveness
3. Pregnancy planning (recommended for both partners)
4. Prenatal diagnosis of intrauterine infection
5. Patients with HIV infection or immunodeficiency of other etiology
Concomitant tests:
- [02-014] Complete Blood Count (CBC)
- [02-025] Leukocyte formula (Differential White Blood Cell Count)
- [02-006] General Urine Analysis with sediment microscopy
- [09-029] Toxoplasma gondii, DNA [PCR] (blood)
- [07-040] Rubella Virus, IgG (quantitative)
