In medical practice, the analysis is usually prescribed for the diagnosis of genital herpes; differential diagnosis of morphological elements of sexually transmitted diseases; confirmation of the diagnosis in the presence of symptoms of herpetic lesions (ulcers, vesicles in the genital area) or neonatal herpes; examination of people suffering from diseases that increase the risk of developing complications of herpetic infection (HIV, eczema, severe burns, chemotherapy for oncological diseases, immunosuppressive drugs used in organ transplantation); preventive examination of healthy people; examination of patients preparing for organ transplantation; examination of patients with a burdened transfusion history; when planning pregnancy.
