Description
The study is used to detect the pathogen in various biological media, taking into account the predominant manifestations of the disease. In case of CNS involvement, the main material for the study is cerebrospinal fluid. Examination of synovial fluid is used for the diagnosis of arthritis caused by Borrelia. In case of urinary system involvement, the material of choice is urine. Examination of the biopsy specimen can be used as a retrospective diagnostic method, as well as to confirm the diagnosis using material obtained during endoscopic examinations and surgical interventions.
